Maintenance Tip of the Week

  Oil-Life and Preventative Maintenance Intervals

Our Complete Care Maintenance Program has been designed with the following things in mind: Our local temperature extremes, humidity extremes, road conditions, salt, and everything Canadian, including cold winters and hot summers.

The bare minimum of service to maintain your vehicle's warranty isn't the answer to preventative maintenance. The Boyer Autogroup's provision is that some services may be required more frequently. For example when driving in sub-zero temperatures (snow/salt) your vehicle may require different and more frequent maintenance than a vehicle driven in a more temperate climates. taking the guess work out of when you need an oil change is one true advantage of us servicing your vehicle. That is why we recommend it every 5,000 - 8000kms,  especially if you use your vehicle to tow, or you do extensive idling in stop and go traffic,or drive on dusty, dirty roads, or use E85 fuel . Your oil life indicator will let you know that it is time to take your vehicle in if you have not already done so. If you decide to wit till the light comes on, have your vehicle serviced as soon as possible within the next 800kms and never exceed 6 months or 12000kms- whichever occurs first.

The oil indicator message will not monitor the time since the last oil change. Our dealership will reset the oil change indicator after completing the oil change.

Your actual driving habits will determine the other services required on your vehicle... for example: stop and go driving = Brake Service and trailer towing = more frequent transmission service. The performance of all scheduled service work is required to maintain your vehicle in good operating condition. General Motors Canada reserves the right to deny warranty coverage if the vehicle has not been properly maintained.
